Everyone says summer takes the worst toll on your hair- I’m convinced it’s the winter. The summer sun, salt water, and chlorine give my hair the best volume and tousled look ever! Winter, however, leaves it lifeless, frizzy and straight up broken. In times of serious distress, I turn to these three tried and true deep conditioners to heal my hair. These products will get rid of any and ALL breaking, split ends, and dullness!
My secret to making them work extra hard and to get the BEST results possible is to put them on your hair while it’s DRY. You read that right- do NOT apply them in-shower like the instructions say but cover ever single strand before getting your hair wet. Instead of water filling the cuticle you will be filling it with all the deep conditioner magic! BONUS: Leave it in while you do your chores or chill- the longer the better!
The 3 BEST Deep Conditioners
1: Tony Moly Glow Ring Hair Mask
This two-step process really is magic- like unicorn hair as the results magic. First, you apply the deep conditioner packet (there is more in the envelope than it looks like!), then cover with the moisturizer infused shower cap. The heat that is trapped by the cap causes the ingredients to really penetrate the hair shaft. Bye bye frizz!
2: L’oreal Extroidenery Oil Conditioner
I have oily hair; finding a good shampoo and conditioner that moisturizes without weighing or leaving a film can be HARD. Last year, Influenster (SIGN UP if you haven’t- it’s the bomb!) sent me the new L’oreal Extroidenery line and I fell in love- especially with the conditioner. It leaves your hair so soft and silky- plus at $3.99 you can’t go wrong!
I have LOVE It’s a 10 products for years; I use their leave in conditioner every day! This a heavy duty deep conditioner that will seriously reverse the negative effects the winter weather has had on your locks. Again, apply it to dry hair catch up on your social media and Netflix, then rinse to show off your shiny healthy new look!
Do you apply conditioner to dry hair as well? Or do you have a kick ass hair conditioning product?

I use amika’s deep conditioner and I love it! I recently got into deep conditioners so I’m going to have to check these ones out!
I actually haven’t tried any of these but definitely need to start giving my hair some TLC. I’ve been using Oribe lately – have you tried it??
Oh my goodness yes – my hair gets SO dry in winter too, and lack of sun means it doesn’t go lighter and doesn’t grow and doesn’t go all beachy and voluminous…eugh, bring on summer!! Haha. I’ll definitely have to try applying my mask when it’s dry, i’ve never thought to do that. Thanks for the tips girl 🙂
Amazing products! Love the hair mask though. I have never actually tried any those before. Thanks for the inspiration!
Happy weekend love!
Much love, Len

The L’Oreal extraordinary oil one is so good! I use it because I have bleached hair and so I need something to keep it from getting super-dry in the frigid Winter months.
I totally didn’t want to try it cause I thought it would weight my hair down, but know I can’t go without it. Hugs, Kait

Sun can damage your hair so badly! But I agree, the Winter isn’t much better either… I use Shea Moisture leave-in conditioner. Love it! Thanks for sharing your secret by the way 😉
how often do you use deep conditioners? I like using them but they always seem to weigh down my hair, so then I end up having to wash again the next day…
I use them at least once a week. I have very thin hair and to keep it from being icky the next day I wash my hair after using the conditioner! Works like a charm. Hugs, Kait
Hey Love!! I am definitely going to use the tip about putting in the deep conditioner while my hair is dry. I’m gradually making my way from a balayage back to my normal platinum blonde locks and keeping my ends moisturized is going to be a #1 priority!
It’s so simple but makes all the difference! Good luck (I know what a challenge that is!) Hugs, Kait
I just tried a dry hair and scalp treatment…but I’m not sure how much I liked it! I would love any suggestions for dry scalp products!
This rosemary mint oil is the bomb for a dry scalp!!! I recommend using it before bed as it will get you the greasy look but holy cow it will fix any itchiness! http://www.aveda.com/product/5197/44989/body/rosemary-mint-composition-oil
I need to start using deep conditioners. I use Moroccan Oil conditioner and just leave it for a few minutes, but with winter here, I should try one of these!
The Moroccan Oil one is great, these definitely kick it up a notch though! Hugs, Kait
It’s a 10 is my favorite! Love these tips.
Right? All their products are so good! Hugs, Kait
Come to think of it, you’re right! My hair actually gets way more knotted during the winter because of the wind and I have naturally curly hair, so it of course breaks when I comb it. I’ve never really tried using my hair masks on dry hair, but after reading why, I think it makes perfect sense and I’ll definitely be doing that from now on. I’ve heard such great things about It’s a 10 products, but have yet to try them myself, I think I’ll have to check out this mask! Thanks for sharing beautiful and I hope you have a wonderful day!
I swear I look at my hair and it tangles! Somedays I use little kids detanglers to fix the problem. I hope you give one of these a try and like it babe! Hugs, Kait
