Last weekend was unseasonable warm here in DC, which was super nice- even though it did rain a ton. Fortunately even with the rain, we were able to meet up to have a day out with friends at the local vineyard where my husband and I are members. It was so nice to have the first outdoor wine trip of the season!
I knew I wanted to take some pictures at the vineyard for the blog, but when planning my “look” I certainly did not take the rain into consideration…… My mud covered heels certainly are proof of that! Sigh. I also took a big risk by wearing a suede jacket despite the wet forecast. I just couldn’t say no to the 70’s inspired trim and my favourite colour! I will say I’m loving the fringe trim that is rocking the fashion world right now. Like all trends, I do think it’s best in moderation and only when it compliments your personal style. The fringe on this maroon jacket couldn’t fit more perfectly with my style- it’s my colour, and adds edginess and texture to any look. I really did luck out, by the time we got to the vineyard the rain had ceased and my jacket remained intact.
Alls well that ends well, and fortunately shoes can be cleaned. Next time I will definitely be wearing wellies and a rain slicker, or at least double checking the weather before leaving the house! Someday I’ll grow up enough to dress weather appropriately all the time- even in the rain.
