This Season : Living With Intention

I’m not a New Year’s resolution person- I have never been. I have realized recently though, that if I want to accomplish anything in my life I need to start setting goals and milestones to get there. The media always talks about the “word of the year”. For me, I’m trying to set a word, not for the year, but for this season of my life-

Living with Intention.

These four intentions for February may seem silly or small. However, each has been chosen with care to help me move constantly forward and upward.

1: Read New Books.

When it comes to literature, I always am drawn to the classics and I don’t mind rereading my favourite volumes again and again- the pages seem like old friends. I am setting the intention to read NEW books. Books that I haven’t read before and ones that are written in this decade. Do you have any suggestions for me? I’ll have a list of the ones I’m enjoying coming soon.

2: Grow Professionally.

Having recently graduated, I’m in the job market. I don’t want my learning to stop with receiving that one piece of paper though. I have a list of certificates to work towards to make me foremost in my field.

3: Try Color in Wardrobe.

At some point a few (or several) months back, I started wearing black non-stop- not just black but the same uniform day in and day out. I went from full on maximalism to straight up minimalism. I need to get out of the rut and incorporate some lighter shades again.

4: Do more DIY.

I used to craft and create all the time. It’s always been an integral part of me. I want to start more home projects now that I have my own residence. Send me all the decor pins you have!

What are your current goals? Are you living with intention?

Girl, I have the same goals. I am trying to live more intentionally this year and am finding that it is much harder than it sounds.

I love this list! This is so simple, yet so effective! I have been slowly trying to add more color to my wardrobe this year! I also need to get back on the reading train!

It’s an easy train to fall off of. I don’t know why color is so hard to do! Good luck with both babe.

It can be so hard to do as so many other factors are involved.

Growing professionally is so hard I think because it’s one where you can’t control everything about it…..

I have never really been a new years resolution either, but this year somewhat came to the same realization as you. I think it’s great that you are setting goals based on the season you are in now. Great perspective.

YES! Every day is a new day- which is more important than one specific day once a year. Thanks for stopping by love!

My goal for this year is to blog more frequently and have set myself to have new posts every two days (ambitious I know). I’m also looking to do more DIYs too!

    • February 6, 2018 / 3:46 pm

That is so ambitious but completely doable! I am slowly doing more DIY (officially baking my own bread once a week vs buying it!), but I’d love to start doing posts on it too!
