Makeup Monday: Makeup Removers

Makeup Removers

Makeup removers come in all formulas and methods these days! There might be a million and one different products for removing your face on the shelf at any cosmetic or drug store. Today for Makeup Monday I want to share some formulas I have found to be excellent for removing even the most stubborn waterproof makeup.
For me, removers break down into two types- those already on a wipe, and those you have to apply with your own.
Let’s start with the wipes: My two favourites in this category are Olay Fresh Wipes and Target brand Cleansing Towelettes. I’m really picky when it comes to wipes like this; I don’t want them to leave a soapy like residue, and I need them to have some sort of texture. These two are both extremely well priced, and leave your skin feeling clean and not tacky. They are perfect for traveling as well!
The second type of makeup removers are those you apply with a cotton ball (or flat round, definitely the round!): Micellar waters have finally crossed The Pond and Bioderma is by far my everyday go to for removing any and all makeup. It has no scent, leaves your skin moisturized, fresh and leaves absolutely no residue (can you tell that’s big in my book?). The Lancome and MAC are both more traditional liquid moisturizers. I love that neither of these are heavily scented, and that they don’t leave you feeling oily, just fresh and clean.
Happy Monday loves! I hope you have a great week planned ahead of you, and that you accomplish all your goals.

Love this post Kait! I usually use olive oil to remove my makeup. But sometimes if I am in hurry I use wipes. I love OLAY. Will check out other wipes you have mentioned. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

I usually use olive oil to remove eye makeup at home (so moisturing!) but when I travel, I love the towelettes! They’re so convenient and don’t spill everything in your bag! I’ll have to give your recommendation a try. I often just buy the drugstore CVS brand.
