We all have those days when we look in the mirror and go “ugh where did that zit come from?” or “ack I look like I haven’t slept in months with these circles!” Thank goodness for concealers on those days! With the right product you can hide or brighten any area- instantly look more rested or make any acne disappear. For this week’s Makeup Monday I’m sharing my tried and true favourite concealing products that I alway have in my makeup bag.
1: This Laura Mercier is my new favourite! It is a very thick product that works well when applied with a damp sponge or a finger, there is a bit of blending involved though as it is so thick. I love this for under my eyes! I constantly have dark circles, and while I may skip foundation all the time, I do like a layer of concealer to cover them up.
2: Another liquid concealer that works well via sponge or finger, this Makeup Forever is thinner than the Laura Mercier, definitely a quick blend product for those who do not like a heavy concealer. However, the colour payoff and staying power are excellent!
3: This one from Almay has salicylic acid in it and is my secret weapon when it comes to errant pimples! It only comes in three colours, so I wouldn’t recommend it as an everyday go to. I’m sharing it on this list though because if I put it on a pimple (or one that’s coming on), I swear it goes away in less that a day. I confess to putting it on before bed as a spot treatment, to wake pimple free, or I wear it underneath a more skin matching formula like numbers 1 and 2.
4: I recently discovered this little palette at Target and picked it up on a whim. I am so glad that I did! Each colour is creamy and blendable to colour correct anything from acne and dark circles to dullness. I use a brush to put the pink colour under my eyes, set it and then apply my regular concealer- I swear it looks airbrushed!
5: Last but not least is Erase Paste by Benefit; you’re definitely going to want a brush or sponge with this product! It’s creamy buildable texture is excellent for anywhere on your face, without making you feel like you are suffocating.
Do you have a favourite concealing product? If so let me know so I can try it out and add a new goodie to my list!
Happy Monday to each and everyone of you loves!
