Salt. Great on food, and even better when styling your hair! It seems as soon as the summer sun hits, beachy waves are the style every gal desires. Salt sprays are the easiest way to give a soft piece-y wave texture to any length or style of hair: simply spray on slightly wet hair and go! Perfect for those busy summer days when you don’t want to be locked inside with an uber hot hair dryer.
I have tried a LOT of salt sprays: the homemade, the classics, the newest. There are some really bad ones on the market (and some really bad recipes…..), but the good ones are really really good.
1: Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray
This product is a cult classic, and many hairstylists swear by it. I love the volume this product gives my fine hair, and the perfect amount of salt gives my hair the best beach breeze swept locks.
2: Olivine Atelier Love and Salt Mist
I picked this up on a whim while checking out at Anthropologie and I’m so glad I did! This one has coconut oil in it that leaves your hair soft and not crunchy like some sprays do. The scent is out of this world, and it gives my hair the softest lightest wave.
3: John Frieda Sea Waves
John Frieda actually discontinued this product a few years ago, but had to bring it back because too many people complained about missing it! I always always have a bottle of this with me in the summer. It’s a little heavier than the previous two, but the results are beachy perfection that won’t leave hair limp and heavy.
