“Do one thing a day that scares you.”
If you’ve been following along for a while you know of my penchant for wearing black. It’s easy and I always feel confident when wearing it. I normally don’t feel the need to inject a lot of colour outside of white and maroon. However, one should always step outside their comfort zone.
Pink, Pink, or Pink?
For years I avoided pink with the same fervour which I avoided being called Katie. Both were far too girlie for my sensibilities. I’m always giving the advice to try something new or different, and I decided to heed my own words (for once). This dress is nothing like I would normally choose to wear: it’s frilly, form fitting and full of colours! I did ensure it kept some features I am comfortable with: small print, open back and above the knee cut.

Then it happened.
The world didn’t stop spinning when I donned the look.
In fact, I actually felt comfortable- I enjoyed the break from the norm. That’s not to say I didn’t question wearing it out a million and one times. Once I left the comfort zone of my house I was able to feel great in this fun dress!
You might have to talk yourself up, but don’t ever shy away from living a moment because it is strange or out of your comfort zone. Take a deep breath and conquer.
