Overalls have made a big comeback in the past year, just like all other 90s’ trends. I remember the pair I had when I was a kid- I loved them! I owned another pair while working on a farm as a teenager (I have a very varied job background- cleaning chicken coops is the grossest thing ever!); they were from the boys section and just fantastic.
Knowing how much I loved wearing them in the past, I have been looking for a new pair for a while now. I knew I wanted several specifics in a new pair: soft denim, high waisted with a high bib, wide legs, and no distressing. Finding all of those qualifications in a pair was a huge challenge! Free People had an amazing 40% off all sale items a while back, and while browsing the site I came across these, which have everything my overall loving heart could desire! I’m loving them with a simple tissue turtleneck now, and can’t wait to wear them with a lace high necked tank top in the spring.
I found this vintage inspired bomber jacket on Nasty Gal not too long ago and adored the embroidery on the back, plus it’s my colour so I had to have it. It’s great because I can layer with heavier items now, and still use the light weight silk for summer evenings. I really am all about versatility! As for the bag, I have a serious Rebecca Minkoff obsession. This mini MAB tote is the perfect size for my petite frame, and I love the classic shape (and that it fits everything I need in it).
How do you feel about overalls? I know people love them or hate them. Check out below for some other pairs I find super cute.
It’s Friday loves! I hope you all had amazing weeks, and that this weekend is relaxing and rejuvenating.
