Tutu skirts are the epitome of fun fashion in my mind- from the time Carrie of Sex and the City first stepped out the door in hers. (Confession: I never even watched the show!!! But Sara Jessica Parker in that skirt will always be emblazoned on my mind when it comes to tutus in fashion.) I officially own three of them, but this Chicwish black one has to be my favourite- the black is super easy to style, and the fact it has a silky lining gives it a million and one points in my book!

Tutu skirts are one of those fun items that can be dressed up or down; pair with simple flats and a plain tshirt for an everyday look, or with wedges and a silky blouse for brunch date perfection. As intimidating as the skirts appear they really are as easy as jeans to wear and pair!

Maybe this is just me, but every year I see pics of street style gals with bare legs walking around freezing cold cities looking chic and effortless and unfrozen. I have always wondered how they did it and  I never thought I’d be cool enough to do so. However the weather in VA is on my side with 65+ weather despite it being December!!! Thank you Mother Nature for giving me a chance to pretend to be awesome and not actually have to freeze.

I hope you are all enjoying the last few days of 2015!!!

You pulled this look off so well. I’ve always wanted to wear a tutu skirt but thought of it in terms of a costume of some sort. However, you’ve given it such a grown up feel that I may need to rethink wearing it out and about. I simply love this look on you and you are gorgeous!

You should definitely give it a try! There are so many ways to make it look non-costumey. Thank you for coming by. Hugs, Kait

Awesome, I want a tutu!!! I love that it’s midi length, it makes it look all ladylike instead of like a 5 year old’s tutu 😛
