Tutus and Blogging Besties

“The best friendships are are fierce women friendships where you aggressively believe in each other, defend each other and thinks the other deserves the world.”

They say blood is thicker than water but you know what tie is even stronger?

When you find the person who has the same passions as you, the same life views as you and laughs just as much as you, you’ve definitely found a keeper! Sometimes you meet that person in the most unexpected ways- like via social media. Shell from A Courageous Beauty and I met that exact way- we started talking and were ecstatic when we found out we lived five minutes from each other. After meeting up at a coffee shop we instantly became besties! Fashion brought us together but there is so much more keeping us together.

I’m not going to lie, finding friends as an adult can be very difficult. You can’t just go up to them on the playground and instantly bond over a mutual love for fruit roll ups! One of the best ways I’ve met people as an adult is online. Especially through my favourite online group Style Collective! It’s a group of major #girlboss besties who lift up and support each other, not just through blogging online but also #irl.

Just as important as meeting a new friend is keeping them! Here are my top three tips for being a bestie as an adult:

1: Besties listen!

Truly listen! Having a heart to heart is one thing and we all tend to listen during those. It’s so important to listen to the small things too! Just the how’s your day conversation can be so much more with your best.

2: Besties aren’t afraid to let each other take center stage!

Being a friend as an adult means realizing life isn’t all about you! Sometimes you need to take a step back and be the support system. The beauty of besties is that you know when to focus on her and she knows the same vice versa.

3: Besties bring out each other’s inner child!

Sometimes as adults we take life way too seriously! Besties have a way of bringing out the silly in each other. Find a friend who lets you let loose and be yourself. It’s so important to be able to be yourself- together.

I love how Shell is willing to dress up with me in tutu skirts and pose like Mary Kate and Ashley (our obsessions just line up so perfectly). I can’t believe I’ve known my blogging bestie for a year; it’s been the most fun and I can’t wait for all the years we have ahead together!

Be sure to check out Style Collective to meet a whole group of potential besties! Not only  are we a #sisterhood all about women supporting and uplifting other #bloggerbabes but we have some of the BEST advice out there including:

  • An exclusive forum for all your blogging questions!
  • An affiliate program just for Style Collective partnerships!
  • E-courses on: How to Work With Brands, How to Brand Yourself Like An IT Girl and many many more!

We’d love to welcome you to our group; let’s all inspire each other!

Do you have a best friend? Have you been together for a lifetime or did you just meet?Head on over to A Courageous Beauty to see Shell’s post celebrating our one-year friendshipiversary!!!

I love this post for so many reasons. Life is truly amazing with a BFF by your side. Mine lives far away, but when we get together, we pick up right where we left off and laugh hours on end. Y’all styled the tulle skirts perfectly. I hope to see more of these parallel shoots.
